By way of comparison performance at the end of Q2 is 0.7% below performance in 2022/23. The reduction in the collection rate compared to 30.9.23 may be attributable to the impact of the cost of living crisis as well as ongoing recovery from a recruitment restriction during a Revenues and Benefits Service Review.. The PI is monitored monthly.

By way of comparison performance at the end of Q2 is 1.06% less than in 2023/24. That can be attributed to an unusual increase in the number of properties brought into the Rating List at the end of 2022/23 which became payable in 2023/24. The PI is monitored monthly.

COMMENTS: Performance is strong and above target for the year with a continuation of focussed work being done on vetting of Right to Buy applications and Housing Tenancy fraud. There is a 42% withdrawal rate for Right to Buy applications due to the increased verification that would otherwise have resulted in discounts being given where they were not eligible for them . In addition, the tenancy fraud initiative has resulted in 8 properties being recovered.
