1 | Percentage of all clients completing and not re-presenting: non-opiates | % | 29.78 | 20.5 | 33.09 | Jun 2024 | Monthly | Green | Green | Up to date
COMMENTS: This indicator measures successful completion of treatment - number of successful completions as a percentage of the total number in treatment. If an individual re-enters the service again within 6 months this does not count as a successful completion. Due to the definitions used in this measure, this quarterly report will include service user activity from between 6-18 months ago. ACTIONS: Achieving target. |

ACTIONS: Below target - though an improvement on the previous month's figure. The treatment service is currently engaged in a project to increase the numbers of people accessing treatment, as a condition of receiving funding linked to the Drug Strategy. As a result of the way this indicator is recorded, increases in the total number in treatment are likely to reduce the successful completion figure. |

4 | Percentage of women not smoking at time of delivery | % | 91.75 | 88 | 91.75 | Oct 2022 | Quarterly | Green | Green | Overdue
COMMENTS: Smoking during pregnancy can cause serious pregnancy-related problems such as increased risk of miscarriage, premature birth, still-birth, low birth weight, and sudden unexpected death in infancy. Collecting data on women's smoking status at the time of delivery (SATOD) is designed to provide a measure of the prevalence of smoking among women at the time of giving birth at a local level. We are reporting the number of women known to not smoke at the time of delivery. ACTIONS: Reducing smoking in pregnancy remains a key shared goal in Northumberland. SATOD is reported by the ICB. Stop smoking support for pregnant women is now provided by maternity services as part of the LTP TTD workstream. The local authority community based Stop Smoking Service continues to support partners and family members to quit and NCC works in partnership for pathway development. |

10 | Newly diagnosed cases of Chlamydia (female only). Rate per 100,000 population (aged 15 to 24) | Rate per 100,000 | 1897.7 | 2300 | 1897.7 | Jul 2023 | Quarterly | Green | Red | Up to date
COMMENTS: Young People are disproportionately affected by rates of Sexually Transmitted Infections. Young females are especially at risk of developing long term heath conditions as a result of untreated chlamydia. In line with national recommendations, services are encouraged to proactively offer screening to young female patients. Increasing detection rates mean screening programmes are finding more infections which would have otherwise gone undetected. ACTIONS: As a priority area, we have deliberately set a challenging target for this indicator which will bring us up to national performance averages. Performance is below target but is demonstrating an increase on the previous period, and is at it's highest level since the indicator and target was revised. There is an ongoing work programme within the service, supported by NCC Public Health, to improve performance in this area. |
